Community Partner Opportunities

Women’s Advocates continually seeks partnership opportunities with local businesses, leadership groups, organizations, community members, etc to provide innovative activities, services, and programs for our residents. If you or your group can provide a specific event, activity, or learning opportunity for residents of Women’s Advocates, please contact Tom at tbrinker@wadvocates.org or 651-726-5212.

Eligibility & Requirements

Volunteers must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Complete a Volunteer Application (Individual or Group)
  • Complete a Department of Human Services (DHS) background check, provided by Women’s Advocates
    • Individuals: ALL volunteers must complete a DHS background check before starting their volunteer experience
    • Groups: at least one member present at each visit must complete a DHS background check prior to volunteering
  • Sign a confidentiality agreement
  • Attend a scheduled volunteer orientation meeting with position supervisor or Volunteer Coordinator
    • Groups: at least one primary group contact must attend orientation
  • Sign in and sign out of our facility in our main office for every visit
  • Wear a visitor badge during the entirety of each visit

Volunteers cannot:

  • Have received Women’s Advocates services in the last year
  • Bring children under 18 years old with them to the shelter
