In a survey of women who stayed at Women’s Advocates, ten out of ten reported gaining new knowledge of Domestic Violence during their stay. The National Organization for Women (NOW) in New York City has launched the #HealMeToo campaign to raise awareness that women who are raped or sexually assaulted have an extremely high chance of developing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder symptoms in the weeks following the assault. Because of this, NOW is highlighting the resources available to help anyone who might need it in the aftermath of sexual assault. More here.
