About Terry:

Terry Forliti, Executive Director

As a survivor of the life, Terry focused on empowering the marginalized while obtaining her degree in Organizational Leadership from Bethel University in 2005. Due to her incredible gift of relating with those who have experienced exploitation, and her dedication to her position on the Board of Directors at Breaking Free, she was eventually hired on as full-time staff. Prior to her role as executive director, Terry developed a database that allows us the ability for concrete analyses, recording trends and statistics of victims of sexual abuse, as well as organize and track our services. Terry is also a member of local coalitions including the Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Violence Free Minnesota and Minnesota Alliance on Crime. In addition, she is active nationally and globally with organizations such as CAT-W, CAP International, Shared Hope International, WWE, NCOSE, Polaris and others. Terry is also a member of several task forces which focus on labor/sex trafficking, interdiction studies to map trafficking trends and the Minnesota Human Trafficking Task Force.

Terry was awarded the Lois M. Christensen Women Who Impact Award by the Minnesota Women of Today in January 2015. In 2019, Terry was awarded the College of Adult and Professional Studies Alumna of the Year for Bethel University.
