Help a victim-survivor by fostering their pet in your home.
Did you know nearly half of victim-survivors of domestic violence stay in abusive situations rather than leave their pets behind? Women’s Advocates’ Survivor Advisory Committee, made up of current and former program participants, wants to work with our community to fix this problem. We are working with local animal rescue organizations for survivors staying in our shelter. Let us know if you would be willing to foster a victim-survivor’s dog or cat for 30–90 days while their owner finds safety and resources in our emergency shelter.
